MFP Silicon Shade guide
Maxillofacial prostheses are fabricated using medical grade silicon.
It is important for the shade of the final prostheses to match that of the skin of patient receiving the prostheses.
Shade guide for this silicon is to provide a standardized method of communication to the lab which is fabricating the prostheses or to order silicon from companies which provide silicon as per shade guide.
It may also be useful in conveying the shades used in publication case reports.
Shade guide and it’s inserts are 3D printed in resin and silicon of various commonest skin shades are embedded in the corresponding shade guide insert from numbered S0 to S9.
